In celebration of National Rehabilitation Week, Newman Regional Health’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit will host an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The open house will feature the following:
F Physical therapy: What’s your fall-risk? Have it assessed today.
F Occupational therapy: Have your grip strength assessed and learn about adaptive equipment.
F Speech therapy: Learn more about what a speech therapist is and what they do.
F Social work: Find out more about community resources in the area.
People attending the open house should use the Main Entrance off of 12th Avenue, Entrance C.
Rehabilitation units from coast to coast are observing National Rehabilitation Awareness Week, which is Sunday through Saturday, under the slogan of “Positive Thinking, Positive Results.” The event, which is held each September, is a time to recognize rehabilitation professionals, honor the achievements of those undergoing rehabilitation and inspire both groups to keep working toward making new strides in the year ahead.
“It’s an event that brings together our professionals and clients in a very special way,” said Kim Bales, director of Newman Regional Health’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. “Everyone is working toward the same goals, and we all take a great deal of pride in the positive results that come from those efforts.”
