THIS SATURDAY is The Great American Flea Market, and that means you will want to make plans to come downtown to take part in one of Emporia’s most popular events.
We predict nice weather and more than 120 vendors selling everything from antiques to clothing to jewelry to tools and so much more, people will likely find some treasures they can’t live without.
In addition to buying from the vendors selling their wares, people can also take part in Emporia Arts Council’s Chalk Fest or view the car show.
If all the activities make you hungry, don’t worry because there will be five vendors selling great food from tacos, to barbecue to hot dogs and hamburgers.
Last year, more than 5,000 people attended The Great American Flea Market. One comment we heard from many was how they enjoyed just seeing and talking with old friends they had not seen in a long time.
If you want to have a booth to sell your treasures, it’s not too late. Just call Mary Helmer at Emporia Main Street at 340-6430.
Saturday will be downtown’s busiest day, so get up early, come downtown and find those special treasures before they get snatched up by someone else.
