Americus — Americus Days T-shirts are now available for order. Shirts are available in adult and youth sizes with color choices of lime green, red, denim blue, pink, light gray and deep purple. They will sell for $10 each.
Order forms are available at city hall or by contacting Linda Houston (620) 443-5050 or houstonlmh@hotmail.com. Advance payment is required.
Times and places for Americus Days meetings have been set. The committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Senior Citizens Center; noon Sept. 5 at El Palenque restaurant in Emporia; 6 p.m. Sept. 12 at Jana Smart's residence; noon Sept. 19 at Phoebe's Cakes in Emporia; and 6:30 p.m. Sept. 26 at the Senior Citizens Center.
The meetings are open to the public.
New sign at school
The new sign board is in place on the southeast corner of the Americus Grade School grounds. The sign was purchased with money raised by the PTO through the Math-a-thon contest last spring. The sign will list Watch the board for upcoming school events.
