After a Washburn punt, ESU drove 51 yards on seven plays, capped by a 14-yard touchdown pass from Ben Purkeypile to Lucas Sullivan.
Following a holding penalty on the extra point, Jeff Edwards missed the 30-yard attempt to keep the score at 6-0.
Washburn followed on the next possession with a 13-play, 60-yard drive, scoring on a 4-yard Trent Hearn touchdown run. Connor Sabel's point-after gave the Ichabods a 7-6 advantage.
After taking over at the WU 14, Purkeypile tossed an interception right to Zach Watkins, who returned it 19 yards for a touchdown. Sabel added the PAT to make it 14-6.
Washburn scored on its final possession of the half, driving 36 yards during a two-minute situation and setting up a 23-yard Sabel field goal with 2.9 seconds remaining.
The Washburn defense forced a punt on the first ESU possession, and Fletcher Terrell blocked the subsequent Johnny Torres kick to give Washburn the ball at the ESU 17.
Four plays later, Ra'Shawn Mosley scored on a three-yard touchdown run to extend the lead to 24-6.
Following an ESU three-and-out, Washburn scored on its fourth straight offensive drive, going 49 yards for a touchdown. Chris Brown found the end zone on a one-yard sweep to make it 30-6 before Sabel's kick pushed the lead to 25.
Washburn scored on its final possession, as Brandon Walker scampered 28 yards on a fourth-and-10 to make it 37-6.
Sabel missed the point-after.
Washburn improves to 5-4, 4-3 in the MIAA. ESU falls to 3-6 overall, 2-5 in the conference.
