Tag deadline
Tuesday is the last day for people whose last names begin with the letter S to renew their vehicle registration without penalty. Dora Hartig, Lyon County treasurer, said the motor vehicle office in the courthouse is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Proof of insurance is required to renew registration.
Veterans’ recognition
The seventh Annual Veteran’s Day recognition at Lebo Elementary School will be held Nov. 10, starting with a reception at 1:30 p.m. in school commons area. At 2 p.m., the students in grades K-6 will present a patriotic musical tribute in the school gymnasium. Music will be directed by music teacher Amelia Hancock. The students will recognize each of the five military branches during which time the veterans who served in that branch of the military will stand.
Veterans can make reservations by calling (620) 256-6161. Those able to attend at the last minute and haven’t made reservations, are invited to come and “share in the program.”
