ON THIS election day, you have a chance to make Kansas a safer place to live. The current attorney general hired a person to head the consumer protection division who has been arrested 12 times and has over $61,000 in unpaid fines.
This is a division of the Attorney General’s Office with the responsibility to prosecute those individuals and companies who prey on the most vulnerable of our population, a population that is mostly made up of the elderly. Under Attorney General Phill Kline, cases actually being investigated by this office have dropped by 50 percent. These are cases against unscrupulous contractors, identity thieves and other con artists. We all know that cases in this type of crime have skyrocketed, and yet our current attorney general does not view them as a priority.
Paul Morrison will restore professionalism and integrity to the office of Kansas attorney general. Never has it been more important to have a strong and proactive consumer protection division in the Attorney General’s Office. Paul Morrison is the person Kansans can trust to put protecting us first.
