The Flint Hills Community Health Center board of directors met Tuesday and approved minutes from a special meeting. At that meeting, the board decided to form a small task force to discuss what relationship, if any, the health center wants to form with Osage County Health Department.
Lougene Marsh, executive director of the Flint Hills Community Health Center, said in the special meeting held on Oct. 18, the board recommended forming the task force which would consist of several board members, several staff members and several representatives of Osage County.
Marsh also said she met with Osage County commissioners to discuss a contract proposal with them.
“We are getting ready to open a primary care clinic there one day a week,” Marsh said. “They (commissioners) seem to be very open and positive about that opportunity.”
Also during the meeting:
- Board members approve the purchase of a new server for the computer system. The server runs the web site and the center’s e-mail.
- The board approved an adjusted 2007 budget. The adjustments were necessary because Lyon County is providing less funding than expected and grants are providing more money.
