ESU soccer team drops contest against Truman
The Emporia State soccer team fell 2-0 to Truman Sunday afternoon in Kirksville, Mo.
The Hornets battled to a scoreless tie at half, but Katie Ruefer broke through in the 52nd minute. She scored on a cross from Kristin Haluszczak, making it 1-0 Truman.
Isabel Gaeta added the insurance goal in the 76th minute.
ESU was outshot 16-6 in the match.
The Hornets (3-13-1) return home this weekend for their final two games of the season, facing Missouri Southern on Friday and Southwest Baptist on Saturday.
Snyder to hold book signing at Hastings
Future Hall-of-Famer and former Kansas State football coach Bill Snyder will be at the Emporia Hastings on Wednesday to sign copies of his biography, “Bill Snyder: They Said It Couldn’t Be Done.”
Fans are encouraged to bring copies of the book to the signing, which will be held from 5:30-7 p.m., or there will be books available for purchase at the store.
Snyder coached his final game at Kansas State last season after guiding the Wildcat program to 136 wins in his 17 years at the helm of the once-moribund program.
