College auction going wild in 2007

Friday, October 20, 2006

Go on safari, Feb. 16, 2007, with Dean Hollenbeck, Flint Hills Technical College president and his wife, Brenda, as your guides to “Rumble in the Jungle,” the fifth annual auction benefiting the FHTC Foundation. Money raised will support the efforts of the foundation as it assists students with scholarships and enhanced educational opportunities.

“Hollenbeck actively leads Flint Hills Technical College as a community partner providing quality technical education and supporting area workforce development needs,” said Jodi Heermann, executive director of advancement for the college. ”Both he and Brenda have become active members of the community in the short time that they have been here and we are thrilled that they will be the honorary co-chairs for this year’s event.”

“There will be a variety of ways to participate with the auction to guarantee its success,” Heermann said. ”We will be seeking major event sponsors, auction underwriters, cash contributors and donated items,” Heermann said.

Advance ticket sales will begin in January. For more information about the auction call Heermann at 343-4600 or 800-711-6947.
