The Emporia State volleyball team stayed in the top eight of the NCAA Division II South Central Regional rankings, coming in at seventh this week.
At the the end of the season, the top eight teams from each region advance to the NCAA Division II tournament.
It will be a little tougher for the Hornets to make the postseason, as teams must also have at least a .500 record at the end of the season or win the conference tournament to receive a playoff berth.
Currently, ESU sits at 11-12 overall with seven matches plus the MIAA tournament remaining.
Truman takes No.1 spot in the region, followed by Central Missouri, Washburn, Missouri Southern, North Alabama and Pittsburg State.
ESU is the only school in the nation to crack the top eight of a region’s rankings with a losing record.
