Two men were taken to the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City after an accident Sunday at the Vassar Co-op.
Randy Wise of Melvern and Bob Geisler of Waverly were in the basket of a crane-type machine that tipped over as the men were tearing down the co-op, according to information from Osage County Sheriff Laurie Dunn.
Wise was reported in fair condition this morning, according to a hospital spokesman. Geisler’s condition was not available.
Sheriff’s officers, the Vassar/Lyndon Fire Department and emergency personnel all responded to the accident.
Wise was taken from the scene by Lifestar to KU Medical Center. Geisler was taken by ambulance to a Topeka hospital and later transferred to KU Medical Center.
Another man, Steven Arb of Melvern, was not in the basket and received no medical treatment at the scene, Dunn said.
