Bicycle fatality reported in Coffey County

James D. Mays Jr., 20, of Lebo, is dead following an accident where he was struck while riding his bicycle in Coffey County Monday.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Mays was riding his bicycle northbound on US-75 around 9:20 p.m. Monday. He was traveling in the lane of traffic when he was struck from behind by James P. Leach, 66, of Burlington, who was driving a 2001 Jeep. Leach and his passenger Sharon Leach, 63, of Burlington, were not injured.
Mays was taken to Jones Funeral Home.
