‘Secret Santa’
A “Secret Santa” will be out and about in Neosho Rapids this holiday season, and the reward for finding him is a $25 gift certificate.
The contest, sponsored by the City of Neosho Rapids Projects Committee, will begin on Saturday.
Anyone in the Neosho Rapids area can ask people, “Are you the Neosho Rapids Secret Santa?” to be eligible to win the prize, a news release stated.
The winner will be announced at the Neosho Rapids Christmas Open House at 2 p.m. Dec. 9, in the Neosho Rapids Junior High School.
Flu-shot clinic
Newman Regional Health will offer a walk-in flu-shot clinic from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the north main lobby, facing 12th Avenue.
Cost of the shot is $18, and people on Medicaid or those over 65 with Medicare Part B are covered.
The shots are for people 9 years and older.
Republican officers
Lyon County Republican precinct committeemen and committeewomen met recently and elected officers for the party for the next two years.
Officers elected included: Chuck Hanna, chairman; Karen Hartenbower, vice chairman; Donna Eudaly, secretary; and Vernon McKinzie, treasurer.
Also elected were four delegates to the 1st Congressional District party organization and six alternates. Delegates are Lloyd Stone, Carolyn Kuhn, John Lopez and Doris Hanna. Alternates are Ken Bazil, Gilan Cockrell, Ruth Fowler, Peggy Mast, Ray Terrell and Teresa Walters.
A district meeting will be held Dec. 9 in Hays.
