These meals will be served next week in the Emporia schools:
Breakfast
Monday: Cereal and graham cookie or Pop Tarts.
Tuesday: Biscuit and gravy or cereal and graham cookie.
Wednesday: Blueberry scone or cereal and muffin.
Thursday: Jungle pancakes or cereal and biscuit.
Friday: Funnel cake and topping or cereal and biscuit.
Lunch
Monday: Cheese pizza, baby carrots with dip, applesauce, Oreo cookie.
Tuesday: Frito chili pie, corn chips, tossed salad, peaches, Rice Krispie treats.
Wednesday: Chicken patty on a bun, seasoned fries, veggie bites with dip, pears.
Thursday: Country fried steak with roll, mashed potatoes with gravy, broccoli, apple wedges.
Friday: Chicken fajita, Mexican rice, tossed salad, orange smiles.
Breakfast is served with juice and milk; lunch is served with milk.
Friendship Meals Emporia
Friendship meals are served at noon at the Emporia Senior Center, 603 E. 12th Ave. Reservations should be made one day in advance by calling the Senior Center, 343-3160, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
These meals will be served next week:
Monday: Fish, asparagus, macaroni and tomato, roll, peaches.
Tuesday: Beef and broccoli, rice, country blend, wheat bread, pudding cup.
Wednesday: Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, peas and carrots, roll, pineapple upside-down cake.
Thursday: Barebcue chicken breast, macaroni and cheese, winter mix, bread, jello with applesauce.
Friday: Not available at press time.
North Lyon County
Friendship meals are served at noon at: the Americus Senior Center, 516 Locust St., (620) 443-5352 and the North Lyon County Senior Center at Allen, (620) 528-3414; Reading residents who want meals can call the North Lyon County Senior Center.
Reservations should be made by phone one day in advance.
