Soup before the parade
Emporia Presbyterian Manor will sponsor a soup supper from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday before the Christmas Parade. The supper will be at the First Presbyterian Church, 802 Commercial St.
There will be soup, chili, relishes, cornbread, homemade pies and beverages. Their will also be carry-out available. The tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children.
All of the proceeds will go to the Presbyterian Manors Good Samaritan Program. Tickets can be purchased at Emporia Presbyterian Manor, 2300 Industrial Road and at the door.
Wrestlers’ taco supper
The Emporia High School Wrestling Benefit Taco Supper will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church, 823 Merchant St. Tickets are $5 each person and may be purchased at the door or from any EHS wrestler. The price includes two tacos, rice, chips, salsa, dessert and beverage.
Proceeds will be used for the purchase of equipment, uniforms and meals.
Farm benefit
The 16th annual Holiday Benefit Auction, sponsored by TFI Family Services, will be held Wednesday at the Emporia Best Western, 3021 W. Highway 50. The social hour and silent auction will be at 5:30 p.m; live auction at 6 p.m. Proceeds will help foster children with items such as participation fees, music instruments, athletic shoes, camp fees, class rings, special health needs and other extras, which are not covered by traditional child-welfare payments.
Sponsorships — titanium, more than $1,000; platinum, $1,000; diamond, $750-$999; gold, $250-$749; and silver, $100 to $249 — also are available.
