Five Women opens
The performance of “Five Women Wearing the Same Dress,” an adult comedy by Alan Ball, continues at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Karl C. Bruder Theatre in King Hall on the ESU campus. For tickets, call 341-6378.
Jazz concert
Viva Voce and the EHS Jazz Band will present the 2nd Annual Jazz Concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Main Commons at EHS. The evening will include desserts and tea or water. Tickets are now on sale from any Viva Voce or Jazz Band member for $4 or may be purchased at the door the evening of the concert. Well-known jazz tunes will be performed by both groups and soloists. There will be an area in the commons for patrons to dance while the music is being played.
Grant
The $30,000 annual Fund Challenge Grant for the Emporia Arts Council is taking place now. If one makes a donation, which is tax deductible, to EAC before Thanksgiving day, an anonymous donor has offered to match the donation dollar for dollar. Composers Festival
The ESU Department of Music presents the Composers Festival featuring the compositions of David Harp, piano, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Heath Recital Hall. On Monday, the Percussion Ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. in Heath Recital Hall. General admission tickets are $5; and $4 for students and senior citizens. Information: 342-5431.

The ESU Faculty Art Exhibition continues through Dec. 10 in the Eppink Gallery, along with the Emeritus ESU Faculty Exhibition in the Gilson Room Gallery, both at King Hall. For more information, call 341-5246.
Bookmark contest
The Emporia Public Library Bookmark Design Contest continues through Nov. 30, using the theme of Emporia’s Sesquicentennial Celebration — the city’s 150th anniversary. For more information, call 340-6464. The library will be closed Saturday.
Craft festival
The 27th annual Christmas Craft Festival in Burlington will be held Saturday, with more than 150 booths of arts and crafts at the Burlington High School. Items for sale are required to be handmade, homemade or homegrown. Next door, at the Craft and Gift Annex, will be approximately 100 more booths of arts and crafts. Book group
The Emporia Public Library book discussion series for Fall 2006 concludes with the novel, “Bee Season” by Myla Goldberg.
