The Emporia State University Annual Faculty Show opened November 6 to a reception of over 100 students, faculty and community members. The show, featuring works of art in a variety of media will continue through December 10 in the Norman R. Eppink Art Gallery on the ESU campus.
This annual show is an opportunity for the ESU art department to showcase works by both current faculty members and retired faculty. The show features the photographs of Larry Schwarm, Ann Piper paintings, glass and sculpture by Eric Conrad, Roberta Eichenberg, Elaine Henry, and Patrick Martin, prints and drawings by Dan Kirchhefer and graphic design work of Matt Derezinski.
Works in the Gilson Gallery by emeritus faculty include sculpture by the late Richard Stauffer, paintings by Richard Slimon and the late Rex Hall, graphite drawings by Donald Johnson and ceramic vessels by John Kudlacek.
Combined, the ESU art faculty has won numerous awards, grants and honors both nationally and internationally in the past 5 years.
“I am proud and honored to work with these talented teachers and artists,” said Elaine Henry, art department chair. “They really show our students what it means to be a life-long learners.”
The faculty and emeritus shows continue through December 10 in the Norman R. Eppink and Gilson Galleries on the ESU Campus. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and by special arrangement.
