Poster pick-up
Entries for the 2006 All Veterans Tribute Student Poster Contest may be picked up at the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau, 719 Commercial St. Office hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. More than 130 Posters were entered in the contest.
No magnet ads for EHS
Emporia High School administrators want to alert the business community that a company, All School Fundraising, may be soliciting advertising sponsorships on behalf of EHS for a refrigerator magnet. The school does not have any agreement with the company for this product, according to Steve Turner, EHS assistant principal.
Antique plowing planned
The Flint Hills Antique Power Association will sponsor a Plow Day on Saturday at the Duane Watts field located 3/4 of a mile south of the airplane by the airport on Kansas Highway 99. Members will begin plowing the 30-acre plot around 10 a.m. Antique tractors and plows of all types will be used. The public is invited to view the old-fashioned machinery in operation.
