Community supper
The Mound Ridge Community Supper was held Oct. 27, at the Mound Ridge Community Center, sponsored by the C.S.C. Extension Unit, with 40 people attending. The oldest person was Helen Clemmons, 92. The youngest was Chloe Webb, 2-months-old daughter of “new neighbors” Ron and Cassie Webb. They also have three sons, Dawson, Jordon and Alex.
Various foods were brought for the covered dish supper — chicken and noodles, spaghetti, creamed corn, Jell-o, mixed fruit and apple salad, lettuce, radishes and carrots, deviled eggs, several casseroles and desserts of apple cake, chocolate cake and pies.
The speaker was Kevin Farr of Lees Summit, Mo., who showed pictures of and told about living conditions in Bangalore, India, where he trained people for IBM. He also showed the group several Indian artifacts, such as an elephant carving and a miniature carving of the Taj Mahal.
