THE LYON COUNTY Chapter of the American Red Cross is an agency of the United Way of the Flint Hills. Because of the donations from the many and generous donors to the United Way of the Flint Hills:
We are able to deliver services to families who have emergency-disaster-caused needs such as food, shelter, and clothing in both large and small disasters and to help ease human suffering. We also have information on disaster preparedness and prevention training.
We are able to hold classes on life giving skills with training in FA/CPR/AED and water-safety training to help save lives.
We are able to be a vehicle of emergency communication between families of service members and their loved ones in military service.
We are able to sponsor Red Cross Bloodmobiles that come to Emporia and area communities. This helps ensure that we have a supply of safe blood when needed.
We are able to partner with other charities and organizations to increase outreach in our community.
Being an agency of the United Way of the Flint Hills, we help to build a better quality of life in Emporia and Lyon County and to help the community prevent, prepare and respond to unknown challenges that lie ahead. We will help families be safer and stronger in our community.
