Staying mobile

ON BEHALF of United Cerebral Palsy of Kansas (UCP-K), we wanted to take this opportunity to thank all the generous donors who support the United Way campaign. We also wanted to let the contributors know what a significant impact these gifts make for clients served by our agency.
Imagine having to remain seated in a wheelchair for 16 or more hours a day. Because of support received through United Way, many area adults and youngsters are fitted with custom seating systems; these systems assure their comfort as well as serving to prevent pressure sores or deformities from occurring. Many disabled persons are able to remain independent because of ramps, door openers, lift chairs and other devices — paid for in part by United Way. Because of United Way support, local residents have received vehicle modifications and the power mobility they need to remain active in the community. The list of benefits received goes on and on.
United Cerebral Palsy is just one of 25 partner agencies providing vital services. Thanks to all the companies and individuals who support the annual United Way Campaign. Together, we are truly accomplishing what really matters.
