Morris County

Voters in the Council Grove school district will decide whether to change the board’s make-up when they vote in Tuesday’s election.

The special question on the ballot reads: “Shall the current three member district (with two board members from each district) and one member at large be changed to two member districts (with three board members from each district) and one member elected at large?”

4-H members and volunteers will be honored for their leadership and accomplishment Saturday night at the annual Morris County 4-H achievement and recognition banquet at the 4-H Center on the fairgrounds.

The dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. and awards will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Ron Wilson, cowboy poet from Wamego, will provide entertainment and awards will be presented by Ann Sparke and Loy James, Extension agents.

Lauren James, 2006 4-H Council President, will be master of ceremonies for the event.

Osage County

Coffee and rolls will kick off the Grace Lutheran Church Bazaar in Osage City on Saturday, Nov. 11, at the church.

Lunch will be available at 11:30 a.m. The meal includes brisket, potatoes and gravy, green beans, rolls or rye bread, pie and beverage. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under.

Homemade Swedish rye bread, crafts, baked goods and raffle items also will be offered.

Proceeds will go to the church’s building fund.
