Supports Kline

Wednesday, November 1, 2006

THE BRAINWASHED never wonder.

What do 89 Kansas county sheriffs (including Lyon County Sheriff Gary Eichorn) see in Attorney General Phill Kline that so many people are deliberately ignoring? The sheriffs have all endorsed Kline in his bid for re-election as Kansas Attorney General. You can read the list yourself at www.paulspolicy.com. There are eight Democrats listed, which is a majority of the Democratic sheriffs.

Kline has also earned the endorsement of the Kansas State Troopers Association, the Kansas State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police, the Kansas Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee and U.S. Senator Sam Brownback.

Three registered Democrats — Wyandotte County State Senator Mark Gilstrap, former State Representative Charles Laird and Wichita attorney Don McKinney announced on Oct. 20 that they are heading the “Democrats for Kline Committee” to help re-elect AG Kline in November. After counting 558 Sedgwick County felons listed who were released early because of Senate Bill 323 (which Kline’s opponent helped write), I can understand why even Democrats are working on his behalf. Lyon County has 32 felons on the list.

Kline’s opponent does not want to build more prisons, but that is of little comfort to people who don’t care to see postrelease supervision shortened by up to 75% of the original sentence for aggravated assault and battery, criminal threat, burglary of a dwelling, auto burglary, criminal use of explosives, stalking and 12 other crimes on the list. SB 323 resulted in the immediate discharge of over 2,800 offenders from Kansas Department of Corrections supervision.

Attorney General Kline won oral arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court concerning the Kansas death penalty. He has also appeared before the Supreme Court twice and won both cases regarding Kansas water rights.

Please join me in voting for Attorney General Phill Kline on Nov. 7.
