Emporia Schools
These meals will be served next week in Emporia’s public schools:
BREAKFAST
Monday: New Year’s Day, schools closed.
Tuesday: Teacher in-service, no school.
Wednesday: Cereal and graham crackers or PopTarts.
Thursday: Blueberry scone or cereal and muffin.
Friday: Funnel cake with topping or cereal and biscuit
LUNCH
Monday: New Year’s Day, schools closed.
Tuesday: Teacher in-service, no school.
Wednesday: Chicken patty on a bun, seasoned fries, baby carrots and dip, pears.
Thursday: Country-fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, roll, broccoli, apple wedges.
Friday: Chicken fajita, Mexican rice, tossed salad, orange smiles.
Breakfast is served with juice and milk. Lunch is served with milk.
Friendship Meals
Emporia
Friendship meals are served at noon at the Emporia Senior Center, 603 E. 12th Ave. Reservations should be made one day in advance by calling the Senior Center, 343-3160, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. For home-delivered meals, call 340-8001.
These meals will be served next week:

Tuesday: Swiss steak, baked potato, green beans, wheat bread, orange.
Wednesday: Chicken tetrazzini, Scandinavian vegetables, apricots, roll, pineapple pudding.
Thursday: Goulash, Italian vegetables, Texas toast, cherry fluff.
Friday: Beef and noodles, country trio vegetables, wheat roll, strawberries and peaches.
North Lyon County
Friendship meals are served at noon at: The Americus Senior Center, 516 Locust St., (620) 443-5352 and the North Lyon County Senior Center at Allen, (620) 528-3414; Reading residents who want meals can call the North Lyon County Senior Center.
Reservations should be made by phone one day in advance.

Wednesday: Pork chops, scalloped potatoes, green beans, wheat bread, ambrosia.
Thursday: Turkey slice, baked sweet potatoes, corn, bread, cranberry sauce, cinnamon-sugar cookie.
Friday: Creamed beef, potatoes, California-blend vegetables, hot rolls, pineapple.
