Business Slow At Satellite Health Clinic

Wednesday, December 20, 2006

Demand has been sluggish at the Flint Hills Community Health Center’s satellite clinic at Osage County Health Department.

In a written report, Lougene Marsh, executive director of FHCHC informed FHCHC board members Tuesday that use of the Osage County satellite clinic has been slow, but she expects it to pick up as more people are aware of the clinic through word of mouth and marketing efforts. The clinic is held every Tuesday with Lynn Bridge and Heather McCullough, advance registered nurse practitioners. The two alternate staffing the clinic each Tuesday.

Marsh also said the Osage County Commission appointed three members to join a task force to consider ways in which FHCHC and Osage County Health Department could work together to provide management for the Osage County Health Department. The first meeting is scheduled for Thursday in Osage County.

Other items in reports:

• November 340B activity res indicated that 965 prescriptions were dispensed to 606 patients. The average cost to client was $6 per prescription with the average cost to patients greater than 100 percent of the Federal Poverty Level at $2.66.

• Christa Walker of the dental clinic reported that the dental clinic was open 15.5 days and had 388 patient encounters with an average of 21.8 patients per day.
