Lyon County commission
Lyon County commissioners will meet for a study session starting at 8 a.m. Wednesday in the Lyon County commission chambers of the Lyon County courthouse. Items up for discussion include:
• The purchase of nine pick-up trucks and one tandem axle dump truck paid out of 2007 funds and place seven older pick-up trucks on the Purple Wave Auction.
• The purchase of a 1991 Smith air compressor from state surplus and place 1984 Smith air compressor on E-Bay auction.
• New library contract.
• Consider update repairs to jail chiller units.
• Discuss using up to $1,000 from diversion fund to purchase two fiber optic scopes for use by the Kansas Highway Patrol and the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
• Discuss installation of eight food ports in jail holding cell doors by Sweeper Metal Fabricators Corporation for $9,000.
• Doug Stueve of the Department of Aging will discuss repair of a rear axle on a L-Cat bus fro $3,500.
• Karen Hartenbower Lyon County clerk will discuss the purchase of a new computer in clerk’s department replacing a failed unit.
• Discuss city of Olpe annexation of county property.
• Discuss Chip Woods, county engineer attending the 2007 Salina Seminar Series in Jan.
