Tax deadline Wednesday

Wednesday is the deadline to pay real estate and property taxes without penalty. If half taxes are not paid by 5 p.m., taxes become due in full on Thursday.

According to a news release from Lyon County Treasurer Dora Hartig, mailed payments postmarked Wednesday or before will be accepted.

The treasurer’s office in the courthouse is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
