Emporia Schools
These meals will be served next week in the Emporia schools:
Breakfast
Monday: cereal and muffin or Pop Tarts.
Tuesday: ham and cheese biscuit or cereal and graham cookie.
Wednesday: breakfast burrito or cereal and muffin.
Thursday: breakfast pizza or cereal and biscuit.
Friday: frosted long john or cereal and biscuit.
Lunch
Monday: turkey fritter with roll, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, peaches.
Tuesday: soft taco, tossed salad, fresh fruit choice, honey bun.
Wednesday: hot dog on a bun, seasoned fried, strawberry-banana cup, cookie.
Thursday: cheeseburger on a bun, tater tots, lettuce, tomato and pickle, fresh pear.
Friday: chicken nuggets with roll, macaroni and cheese, vegetable bites with dip, tropical fruit.
Breakfast is served with juice and milk; lunch is served with milk.
Friendship Meals
Emporia
Friendship meals are served at noon at the Emporia Senior Center, 603 E. 12th Ave. Reservations should be made one day in advance by calling the Senior Center, 343-3160, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
These meals will be served next week:
Monday: polish sausage, cabbage, macaroni salad, bun, pears.
Tuesday: spaghetti with meat sauce, italian vegetables, texas toast, banana.
Wednesday: chicken-fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, wheat roll, cake and ice cream.
Thursday: calico bean bake, tossed salad, pickled beets, cornbread, apricots.
Friday: ham, candied sweet potatoes, italian green beans, rye bread, pie.
North Lyon County
Friendship meals are served at noon at: the Americus Senior Center, 516 Locust St., (620) 443-5352 and the North Lyon County Senior Center at Allen, (620) 528-3414; Reading residents who want meals can call the North Lyon County Senior Center.
Reservations should be made by phone one day in advance.

Monday: goulash, coleslaw with carrots, biscuits, fruit cocktail.
Tuesday: barbecue chicken, macaroni,salad, green beans, fruit.
Wednesday: smothered steak, baked potato, carrots, wheat bread, strawberries and bananas.
Thursday: Christmas dinner and party. Baked ham with pineapple, au gratin potatoes, broccoli with cheese, hot roll, cherry cheesecake.
Friday: sloppy joes, oven-browned potatoes, beets, bread, pears.
