Lyon County commissioners have a short agenda on Wednesday as they tackle contracts with both the Emporia Public Library and the Flint Hills Community Health Center.
Commissioners will discuss Lyon County’s contract with the four library boards in regard to desired changes in the bookkeeping and financial responsibilities. Sue Blechl, Emporia Public Library director will participate in that discussion.
“We make an appropriation to the library to support the outlying libraries,” said Commission Chairman Marshall Miller “Our current library appropriation goes through the Emporia Public Library.”
Commissioners also will discuss with Lougene Marsh, of FHCHC amendments to the contract between Lyon County and FHCHC.
“We just added some language in there,” Miller said. “We put the value of the property that the health center is located on and what would be the rent value. That was in there.”
Miller said the county commissioners will insist that FHCHC use those numbers for in-the highlight the in-kind donations from Lyon County government.
FHCHC pays the utilities and the custodial support for the building, which Lyon County has donated to them. FHCHC also has put their own grant money into that property too for remodeling projects.
