Emporia Schools
These meals will be served next week in the Emporia schools:
Breakfast
Monday: dizzled scone or Pop Tarts.
Tuesday: sausage biscuit or cereal and graham cookie.
Wednesday: pancake on a stick or cereal and biscuit.
Thursday: breakfast bagel or cereal and biscuit.
Friday: breakfast chicken pretzel or cereal and muffin.
Lunch
Monday: super pretzel with sauce, mozzarella stick, vegetable bites with dip, mandarin oranges, raisins.
Tuesday: pepperoni pizza, tossed salad, applesauce, chocolate chunk cookies.
Wednesday: turkey and cheese sandwich, corn chips, pickle spear, banana, fruit juice bar. (No lunch at high school or middle school.)
Thursday: chicken glazers, garlic biscuit, potato smiles, normandy vegetables, pineapple tidbits.
Friday: macaroni and cheese, little smokies, green beans, strawberry shortcake.
Breakfast is served with juice and milk; lunch is served with milk.
Friendship Meals
Emporia
Friendship meals are served at noon at the Emporia Senior Center, 603 E. 12th Ave. Reservations should be made one day in advance by calling the Senior Center, 343-3160, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
These meals will be served next week:
Monday: salisbury steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, wheat roll, peaches.
Tuesday: scalloped chicken, spinach salad, capri vegetables, bread, banana cake.
Wednesday: meatloaf, scalloped potatoes, carrots, roll, fruit salad.
Thursday: calico bean bake, tossed salad, pickled beets, cornbread, apricots.
Friday: ham, candied sweet potatoes, italian green beans, rye bread, pie.
North Lyon County
Friendship meals are served at noon at: the Americus Senior Center, 516 Locust St., (620) 443-5352 and the North Lyon County Senior Center at Allen, (620) 528-3414; Reading residents who want meals can call the North Lyon County Senior Center.
Reservations should be made by phone one day in advance.

Friday: beef vegetable soup, ham salad sandwich, crackers, cottage cheese, plums, pudding.
