Capitol Federal Savings announced Monday that it is giving $5,000 to the United Way of the Flint Hills. The gift is part of more than $475,000 in donations made by Capital Federal to United Ways in its business area.
Duane Dreiling, director of the United Way of the Flint Hills, said he is pleased with the donation.
“It’s great,” Dreiling said. “We’re very pleased and thankful to Capitol Federal for giving to The United Way of the Flint Hills. This is one more way to get us to our (goal).”
The United Way of the Flint Hills’ goal is $600,000. With the Capitol Federal donation, the United Way now has $527,969 in pledges.
Capitol Federal donated a total of $475,247.29 in its company-wide campaign. The money was distributed to United Ways in Emporia, the greater Kansas City area, Wichita, Lawrence, Salina and Manhattan.
