Graduating nurse
Emporia resident Jessica Stegman is among the 39 baccalaureate nurse graduates of the Washburn University School of Nursing to be honored during a recognition and awards ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16 in White Concert Hall on the WU campus.
She is the daughter of Allen and Sheila White and John White of Emporia. The School of Nursing commencement will be at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 15 in Lee Arena, Petro Allied Health Center.
Part of ceremonies
Local students are bringing their talents to commencement ceremonies Friday and Saturday at Kansas State University. Sarah Jane Kuhn of Admire is a senior in communication sciences and disorders and will present the reflections address at the College of Human Ecology ceremony. Sarah Priest of Emporia is a junior in music education and will sing the national anthem at the College of Education ceremony.
Presents paper
Students in Kansas State University’s department of psychology gave presentations at two recent conferences.
Several students co-authored a paper that was presented at the joint biannual meeting of the Association for Psychological Educational Research in Kansas and the Nebraska Psychological Society in Hays Nov. 4.
Emily Pientka of Emporia, a junior in psychology, co-authored “Manipulating the Sunk Cost Effect by Changing the Deliberation Episode” at the joint biannual meeting.
