Emporia Schools
These meals will be served next week in the Emporia schools:
Breakfast
Monday: Cereal and muffin or Pop Tarts.
Tuesday: ham and cheese biscuit or cereal and graham cookie.
Wednesday: cinnamon bun stick or cereal and muffin.
Thursday: breakfast pizza or cereal and biscuit.
Friday: frosted long john or cereal and biscuit.
Lunch
Monday: ham and cheese melt on a bun, tater tots, pineapple tidbits, ice cream or yogurt.
Tuesday: chili, crackers, vegetable bites and dip, fresh fruit, cinnamon roll.
Wednesday: grilled chicken on a bun, cheesy potatoes, green beans, tropical fruit.
Thursday: crispito, mozzarella stick, nacho chips, tossed salad, oranges.
Friday: steak fingers, roll, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, banana, holiday cookie.
Breakfast is served with juice and milk; lunch is served with milk.
Friendship Meals
Emporia
Friendship meals are served at noon at the Emporia Senior Center, 603 E. 12th Ave. Reservations should be made one day in advance by calling the Senior Center, 343-3160, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
These meals will be served next week:
Monday: hamburger gravy and mashed potatoes, italian vegetables, biscuit, fruit cocktail.
Tuesday: fish burger on a bun, potato wedges, raw vegetable salad, pineapple chunks.
Wednesday: sliced pork, candied sweet potatoes, california-blend vegetables, wheat roll, cherry crisp.
Thursday: ham and beans, stewed tomatoes, cornbread, scalloped apples.
Friday: baked chicken, rice pilaf, peas and carrots, roll, strawberries and bananas.
North Lyon County
Friendship meals are served at noon at: the Americus Senior Center, 516 Locust St., (620) 443-5352 and the North Lyon County Senior Center at Allen, (620) 528-3414; Reading residents who want meals can call the North Lyon County Senior Center.
Reservations should be made by phone one day in advance.

Tuesday: chicken pot pie, coleslaw, cornbread, apricots, cookie.
Wednesday: yankee pot roast, golden potatoes, succotash, wheat roll, blushing pears.
Thursday: ham loaf, sweet potatoes, green beans, muffins, peaches.
Friday: white chili, meat salad sandwich, beet pickles, crackers, strawberries with topping.
