CASA thanks

Saturday, December 2, 2006

SOS CASA of the Flint Hills would like to thank volunteers and community members for their support in past years. As this holiday season approaches, CASA wants to remind the community that the greatest gift a child can receive is a safe, loving, permanent home. In fact, that is the goal of the CASA program: to help each child in the court system find that home.

The following volunteers have been working the past year toward this goal for the 60 children who they have supported and advocated for in the court system: Charissa Boldridge, Joy Brooks, Nancy Catron, Carolynn Davidson, Mary Forsythe, Sarah Forsythe, Joan Geitz, Mary Gosser, Connie Lewis, Paul McKnab, Carol Moyer, Robin Nelson, Selma Nolan, Tony Parsons, Lynn Platt, Jo Robertson, Don Rumford, Steve Sauder, Prue Schmidt, Richard Scott, Sophie Thayer, Carolyn Turney, Sharon Vernon, Robert Wallace, and Brad Yount. During the past year CASA volunteers have provided a voice for children in the court system, advocating for their safe return home or adoption into safe, loving, forever homes.

In our community, there are many more children still seeking a safe, loving, and permanent home. Volunteers are still needed to support them in this quest. What a great gift you would be giving a child by becoming an advocate for abused and neglected children! You can be the link between where that child is and where they want to be.all SOS CASA of the Flint Hills at 343-2744 for more information on becoming a Court Appointed Special Advocate!
