The Emporia Social Rehabilitation Services Service Center, 1701 Wheeler, is hosting an open house and resource fair Wednesday to inform the public of its services.
The open house will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday.
“This is a community event designed to inform the public about SRS and the vast array of programs and services we have to offer,” said Cyrilla Petracek, executive director of the South Central SRS Region.
SRS’s programs include those that benefit adult-only households, low-income families with children, child support enforcement and immigrant eligibility issues.
Petracek also said that based on input from participants at last year’s event the format has been changed at this year’s event.
“Everyone will have an opportunity to interact with local staff, visit resource booths and even tour the office,” she said. “There will also be a two-hour presentation on SRS services and discussion about the economic impact SRS has on a community.”
Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about programs specific to the interests and how to access various services. Information will be available for employment opportunities with SRS.
