Fall League
All boys, preschool and kindergarten through 8th grade, are invited to participate in a Fall Basketball League sponsored by Emporia High coach Rick Bloomquist. The Fall League is designed to give boys who are interested the chance to continue playing basketball to improve skills and have fun.
Games will be played on Sunday afternoons and one week night at Emporia High School, with one or two games played on Sundays. Games will be played starting at 1 p.m. Sunday and finish at 6 p.m. Games will begin at 6 p.m. on weeknights.
Each team will be allowed a maximum of eight players, and teams will be coached by EHS staff and players.
The games will begin Oct. 4, and there is a $50 fee that includes a T-shirt uniform.

Cross county club
The Emporia Cross Country Club is preparing to start running this fall.
With practices open to 3rd through 8th graders, the primary purpose of the club is to promote running and excercise for youth. The practices will be conducted in a fun and positive manner and will include many running games.
Practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Jones Park starting at 7 p.m. on Aug. 29. Runner are welcome to start on any date.

All-Veterans Tribute
Golf Tournament
Registration and sponsorships are being accepted for the first All-Veterans Tribute Golf Tournament, which is scheduled for a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start Sept. 23 at the Emporia Municipal Golf Course.
You do not have to be a veteran to participate in the tournament, as registration is open to anyone. The tournament format is four-person scramble, and there is a $50 registration fee per person that includes green fees, cart rental, lunch and entry into the grand prize drawing. You also can purchase two mulligans for $5. The registration deadline is Sept. 21.
Hole sponsorships are open to any individual, business or industry for $100 each, and sponsors will be recognized on the golf course.
Tournament proceeds benefit the All-Veterans Tribute to continue the Emporia tradtion of honoring all Veterans from all military service to the United States.

EHS Alumni
Soccer Game
All former Emporia High men’s soccer players are encouraged to sign up for the EHS Alumni Game at 6 p.m. Friday at the TRYSA Sports Complex.
Cost is $15, and a T-shirt will be given to all alumni players.
Proceeds from the event will go to the EHS soccer booster club.

Ten Star
basketball camp
The application process has begun for boys and girls who want to be invited to the Ten Star All Star Basketball Camp. Players 10 through 19 are eligible to apply for camps at any of 18 sites.

Bowhunter education
A bowhunter education student course will be offered from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday at Camp Alexander. Pre-registration is required. Students are encouraged to bring a sack lunch.

Adult tennis night
An adult tennis night for players 16 and older will continue every Monday until the end of August.
There is no cost. Players need to bring their own tennis racket, tennis balls and water.
