CLARIFICATION
Valuation process
Gary Post, Lyon County appraiser, said property valuations are done independent from the county budget and do not go up or down based on county budget needs. The valuations go up or down depending on what buyers and sellers do in the market place. Because of the reporter’s misunderstanding of the valuation process, an inaccurate statement ran in Tuesday’s Gazette.
