Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas announced today that it will expand its offerings of free relationship education workshops to Emporia this month.
The organization’s Within My Reach workshop will meet every Monday over six weeks from Jan. 28 to March 4. Each session will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas office (702 Commercial Street, Suite 3A, Emporia, KS, 66801).
Offered through the Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas Marriage for Keeps program, Within My Reach workshops teach skills to help individuals succeed in all types of relationships. Participants take part in interactive discussions around problem solving, relationship expectations and teamwork so that they are equipped with the necessary tools to lead more satisfying relationships.
“For the very first time, we’re offering Emporia-area residents an opportunity to participate in our Within My Reach workshop to help strengthen their ability to form long-lasting healthy relationships,” said Jan Lewis, president and CEO, Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas. “Relationships impact the daily fabric of our society. The services we offer provide tangible tools for individuals that enhance the way they interact with everyone in their lives.”
The Emporia Within My Reach Workshop is part of a $1.4 million grant Catholic Charities of Kansas received from the federal government. The Marriage for Keeps program is open to married couples, engaged couples, dating couples and single adults. Spanish speaking workshops and services are offered in Dodge City, Garden City, Wichita, Salina, Topeka, Lawrence and Kansas City. Since 2007, more than 3,000 Kansans have participated in the Marriage for Keeps program.
