Dear Community of Emporia,

I rode the Dirty Kanza for the first time this year and I was very impressed.

The effort that all the volunteers and the rest of the community put into welcoming the riders and supporting the Dirty Kanza is the most impressive that I have seen in almost 20 years of riding organized bicycle rides. The atmosphere at both the start and the finish was second to none. The noise and support from the crowd as we were making our way down the finish chute was a great end to an awesome ride.

I also appreciated the support from all the volunteers and community members. From the signs in yards, to homemade snack tables, to the help-yourself coolers on the side of the road, I felt appreciated and looked after throughout the whole ride.

Thank you so much for all your hospitality. It was a fantastic experience and I am looking forward to riding again next year.
