Emporia State University hosted the 7th Annual Nitty Gritty Tie Dye Run on Saturday morning.

More than 170 participants either jogged or walked the 5K around campus. They started off with new T-shirts, but they did not stay clean for long. They were sprayed with different colored chalk at five stations around the course. Once all of the participants passed the finish line in their newly decorated shirts, they had a color party. As a group, each one had colored chalk which they tossed in the air.

The 5K raised money for Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters, Camp Alexander and Emporia Child Care.
