The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect who escaped from custody Monday.

According to a written report from the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, 45-year-old Daniel R. Goza failed to show up at Kansas Works for work search. He then did not return at the scheduled time to the Lyon County Detention Center at 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Goza is described as being 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, dark blue jeans and black shoes.

Anyone with information about his location is asked to contact the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office at 620-341-3205 and pick option 3 for the Dispatch Center, or leave an anonymous tip with Lyon County Crime Stoppers at 620-342-2273.

Tipsters can also submit a tip via the P3 smartphone application. This software forwards the tip to local law enforcement. P3 software does not track personal information. A tip can also be submitted to Lyon County Crime Stoppers via Facebook by visiting the Facebook page and clicking the link that reads “submit a tip.”

Such a wise move.. You have to wonder what logic he used to decide to skip and screw up the rest of his life. What was worth betraying the public trust and the trust of the penal system? Like leaving the scene of the accident when drunk is less of a punishment than a DUI. This dude probably got stoned and knew he's fail the UA or something.
