Remember how important it was to get that clock tower at 12th and Merchant?
No one has bothered to change the clock to daylight savings time yet.
Must not be important enough anymore to have the proper time. Can I use that as my excuse to be late to work?

I noticed that the other day. It's almost a perfect metaphor for this town - leadership that's behind the times.

Now that I have stopped laughing, I'm guessing that changing the clock was not in any of the city's new job descriptions.

Waste of Money , better use of money should have been spent on something for the kids here in town ! Sometimes I wonder who makes the decisons for emporia ! 25 million dollar courthouse 2 million dollar pool that is losing money daily . $200,000 clock tower with the wrong time !

Noticed this morning at a few minutes before nine, that the clock tower said 11:30 !!
Battery must have died.

LMAO!! @ orlando, thats too funny!
I guess it shows how much the city really needed the clock if they aren't worried about maintaining it.
Hmm ...It would be interesting to see how much they pay someone to change the time and battery or if it is in the city's job description.

I've got it! How about a Gazette poll -- "Do you believe the mechanism on the clock tower should be changed to reflect the correct time?" Answers: Yes. No. Maybe. Who cares? What clock tower?

Just another perfect example of how our local govt. wastes' and has wasted taxpayer money over the years on frivolous, nonsensical, not needed (stuff) ! and now complains that they are going to have to make budget cuts and don't have the money to repair one of Emporias' main infrastructers, namely our streets.
I have been on smoother and better maintained country roads than our city streets.
