Description: Have you ever wondered what it would be like to keep your own bees? Now’s your chance! In this class, you’ll learn all you need to know to start your own hives, get your swarm, and extract honey! The first session will cover different types of bees, Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD), the best types of flowers to plant in your yard, and much more. An observation hive will be on-site so you can see what yours may look like. During the second session, you’ll see a hands-on demonstration of setting up the hive and extracting honey. This class is designed for future hobbyists who would like to keep a hive or two of their own.
