135 minutes. The more a lawman probes into a long-ago murder the more he uncovers layers of family and racial strife that divide this Texas border town. It is a
tale of several generations of lawmen whose lives are intimately intertwined with a Texas bordertown. The film garnered an Academy nomination for Best Original Screenplay.
