Do the sports reporters for the Gazette even know where the class 6A high school state basketball tournament is held? They sure would not know if the Gazette is their only source for news.

First off I don't think there are sports editors, just an editor. In fact the entire Gazette sports staff is two people. Now the same weekend of the 6A tournament - which had no local teams playing in it - ESU was in the NCAA tournament in Canyon, Texas, the EHS girls were playing in the 5A state tourney in Topeka, both the Olpe boys and girls were playing in the 2A state tourney in Manhattan and the Big 12 tourney was going on. Who should have covered 6A and where should the stories have been? If I remember there were stories in the paper about the 6A tourney. What more do you want?

I agree. If you didn't know better, the gazette would have you believe that there are no other sports teams in the area other than Olpe and Emporia.

Wait a second, I don't think you understand what you are saying. You agree with the person above that the Gazette should cover 6A state tournament, which has no area teams in it, which would further take away resources needed to cover the area teams here.
