Hey, is it safe to come in? So much for having an opinion or helpful suggestions in helping look for a guy.

that was my point. Someone complaining the story was not being reported enough, and no-one cared then telling some of those who posted to shut up. sometimes the only thing keping a gazette story going is the posters on these threads.
the longer people talk about a story,(good or Bad) it stays fresh in the publics mind.

Jump on in Methusla, the water's fine!
The only people that shouldn't come on here are the nit-wits on the other thread, who can't take any suggestions, or criticisims, or just plain talk of people who really want the kid found alive and well, but wan't to know ALL THE DETAILS of the whole story.
I wonder if anyone is talking about rewards yet?

Time to get ready for work and I think I'll go out on patrol around Walnut school for a while, looking for that white truck.

I was kind of wondering if the person who couldn't SEEM to comprehend who YY was pointing toward might actually BE a jealous ex who was then trying to distract everyone by responding as if YY had implicated the girlfriend.
I may be too suspicious, but sometimes you can't tell when it's defensiveness rather than an over-emotional reaction.

I did a bit of patrolling for that guy in the white truck this afternoon too, right after school busses had let out kids. 11th and Neosho is right near me so I just drove around a bit. I think I'll do it tomorrow too. Would love to catch the SOB.
Hey Steve, what time do you open? I wanted to stop by on Tuesday and leave a few dollars to buy Gaylord beer or two for the Marine Corps birthday. You weren't open yet and I didn't get a chance to go back. Anyway, happy birthday Gaylord from the only other Portagee in town.

create, We open at 1:00 P.M. You can usually catch Gaylord about a 1/2 hour before Jeopardy starts, (when he goes to the Noose to dazzle all of his posse with his smarts). I"ll tell him you said hey!
and he drinks what we call affectionately call "RUST"

Would " RUST " be the same as what we used to call " RED BEER OR TOMATOE BEER " ? Just wondering !

Lotsa rumors on that Tresler guy. I wonder what was the nature of the three phone calls he reportedly made 30 minutes before he disappeared? Just asking.
Yes, YY, I remember when that wicked Susan Smith tearfully begged a nation to look for her children, poor babies already dead and she knew it all the while.

Pretty open invitation, Steve. If I'm not welcome, please let me know. Are we allowed to NOT sugar-coat what we post here? Hope so...
I don't think a blind person can play football the way it is meant to be played. Contrary to the ultra-sensitive crowd I've encountered on other threads, I don't think we should be making a big stink about a blind kid attempting to play.
Every player on the field has a job to do and not one of those jobs is to simply run forward and hope you hit someone. Linemen don't get enough credit as it is and now they're trying to say that their job is so easy, a blind kid can do it. Sure, you can put a blind kid out there to take up space, but he ain't going to do his job well when he can't see what's going on around him. Light is faster than sound. When the ball is snapped and you have to wait for your teammates to signal you verbally, then that's a split second wasted. The key is to see that ball move and fire off the line as fast as possible. Even fractions of a second in response time can make the difference in a few yards each play.
I know this is one of those "feel-good" stories that is supposed to make you feel all warm and fuzzy, but I take exception to the thought that a blind person can be good at football. It's a dangerous situation for everyone on the field, it's a hindrance to the team, and not newsworthy. If this kid wants to attempt to play, I have no problem with that. I think his ambition is great. I just don’t think it should really be on ESPN and such.

By Jeff O'Dell/KVOE News
Lyon County Sheriff Gary Eichorn said they are still looking for a man who reportedly went missing almost three weeks ago. Eichorn told KVOE News they are distributing information to Kansas City media and law enforcement about 27 year old Brian Lee Trester, who was last seen near Neosho Rapids. Eichorn said they have had two men working the case each day, and nothing has turned up. 27 year old Brian Lee Trester was last seen leaving the area of 1703 Road 120 near Neosho Rapids shortly after 6 am three weeks ago. Trester's vehicle, an orange full-sized pickup, was found stuck at Roads 75 and “R-5” shortly after he was last seen, but he was nowhere to be found. Trester’s family reported that they had not seen him since he left for work on the 22nd, which was unusual.. Sheriff Gary Eichcorn they have done foot searches, searches with cadaver dags, near the area where he was reported missing. Eichorn said they are working every possible lead.

Have the Allen county and Iola, (his hometown) authorities been notified?
While the possibility of foul play exists, it is also possible the young man simply walked away.
Has a reward been posted yet? Sad to say but sometimes a little cash can buy the truth.
As I posted earlier on the other post, I hope he is found alive and well, but to find him the more facts about him people know the better the chances are that he will be found. And I understand the families angst, but attacking the posters on the thread will not accomplish much either.
There is a reason that the sheriffs news release stated "REPORTEDLY went missing almost three weeks ago"

methusla (anonymous) says...
create,
This mans name is Brian Lee Trester, instead of Brian Lee Tressler or Tresler, so you may have gotten the wrong info .
However, the Kasper sight lists Mr. Trester as a, " Parole Obsconder " as of Oct. 30, 2009 and until Mr. Trester is found or located, he will continue to be listed as a " Parole Obsconder " !
People have said that he was definately getting off parole, well that is not totally true. The Lyon County Court records indicate that Mr. Trester was due in court for a " Review " of his parole and that means that realeasing him from his parole stipulations was had not been absolutely decided yet !
So there has been a lot of mis-information put forth by both sides in this matter !
However, I do hope they find the young man, alive and well !

create (anonymous) says...
I hope they find him too, methusla. Thanks for the info. So you're saying that this Brian Lee Tressler on Kasper is not the individual who disappeared?
There is much more to this story than what we know from the press. Again, I too hope they find him and soon.

I believe the answer is yes, the only other alias for Brian Lee Trester, listed on Kasper, is Mike Trester and Brain Lee Trester ! The Kasper search data base could not come up with a Brian Lee Tressler, only the info on Brian, Brain Lee Trester and his photo !
However Brian Lee Tressler may be another alias, I am not entirely sure !

actually, Steve, I looked at consecutive posts of one particular poster like YY4U suggested and for that one poster that past tense turned to present tense after a three day gap and that poster has quit posting altogether. I believe that you are right about that "reportedly" word and that methusla is correct about the parole info given being assumed and inaccurate. This is a very sad situation for those family members and friends who do not have any answers and are in the dark. I hope that he is found well, but this seems to be a very troubled situation.

oh4theluvof;
1st. initial of the poster you are talking about? I keep re-reading the posts and getting a headache.
The complaints about local law enforcement not doing their jobs on this case are, I think, totally out of line.
I hope they, (law enforcement), have phone line taps on a couple of the posters. They themselves may know more than they are letting on.

Thanks again, methusla. I believe I had misspelled the name to begin with. My fault there.
It seems that the only thing we can say for sure is that after missing his courtdate that was to have been a review of his parole situation, when this Brian Lee Trester is indeed found, his parole will be in jeopardy unless he can prove he has been held against his will somewhere.
This entire thing seems to be very strange. There is missing info somewhere.

Yes, Steve, same here. I kept re-reading posts too. Now I'm dizzy!

Steve and YY: the poster YY is talking about is the one with the tense change. You don't see it until you click on the user name and look at all of just her comments. I have the same concern as YY about the defensiveness after the suggestion to look at her ex's.
I didn't really put a lot of stock in the complaints from the beginning, as this seemed like the kind of group that are against law enforcement no matter what, but they lost all credence with me with:
"...and a helicopter for um maybe thirty minutes it seemed like."
"Maybe" and "seemed like" didn't sound like much to complain about to me. The sarcasm didn't score points with me either.....I tend to think that a mourning or worried person sounds more ...............well........sad and worried. That one may just be me, though.

Well, guys, now you know why I moved over here,(this thread).
If we were talking on the other one no telling what would happen , an angry lynch mob perhaps?
While posting on the other thread all I brought up was the man was on parole and could just be an absconder.
I figured before some boyscout troop went out on a serarch party for this man, perhaps people should know some more of the facts.
I Didn't drag him through the mud or sully his reputation, that occured when he broke the law.
He was on parole and was paying the price for his crime.
NEVER did I insinuate that as a parolee he wasn't a nice man or a loving family man.
NEVER did I insinuate that his going missing didn't deserve attention or a search party.
NEVER did I insinuate I was better than he or his family.
I have stated several times I too, hope he is found alive and well.
The defensiveness of some of the posters and their anger with not just Law enforcement, but the other posters as well makes me wonder.
Perhaps the young man left on his own to get away from his family?
November 15, 2009 at 2:15 p.m. ( permalink | suggest removal )
create (anonymous) says...
I agree, Steve. The defensiveness was instant and harsh leading me to believe that somebody knows something more. They don't want questions asked or any considerations made based on anything at all, just pure sympathy. I sympathize with law enforcement because those poor guys are damned if they do and damned if they don't. Even those who had asked helpful questions were told to butt out.

I am noticing a very distinct lack of communication now that they are being asked when to show up for a search party......hmmmmmmmm. They can't gripe about the whole community anymore now that there are volunteers, and they aren't getting anything organized even though it's clear that they will have to step up and that it's not law enforcement's fault.........just Steve's ;-) (j/k to Steve)

My thoughts exactly oh4. They cried big crocodile tears about the lack of help but after people started volunteering to help they seemed to lose interest in wanting it. I guess then they wouldn't have any body else to blame for their problems.

I agree you guys, I went back and said that I would help in some way even after one of the posters got very angry and nasty, then they retracted and apologized, and haven't said anything since. And very suspicious that no matter how many offers of help they still are mum about searching for him. Makes me feel like it is a farce. Perhaps they all know he ran, and they are calling it a kidnapping or disappearance to lead everyone to believe something other than the truth whatever it may be.

And I think all the posters on here should e-mail Bobi Mylnar @the Gazette and request some more info on this missing person. And maybe the Lyon County Sheriffs office.
It does seem to be a story of interest and the family said law enforcement wasn't doing their job.
Maybe the Gazette could be the one to organize a search party?
If not maybe a twice weekly blurb on any progress, everytime it is mentioned the closer we are to finding this man.
