Engagement: Dedonder and Garrison
Kenny and Terry DeDonder of Reading and Mitzi Garrison and Charles Garrison, both formerly of Holcomb and now of Akron, Colo., announce the engagement of their children, Karen Louise DeDonder of Kearney, Neb., and James Wesley Garrison of Manhattan.
DeDonder graduated from Lebo High School, Washburn University with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training and from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a master’s degree in sports administration.
Garrison graduated from Holcomb High School, Garden City Community College, Washburn University with a degree in criminal justice and Washburn Lawn School with a juris doctorate. He is a Riley County assistant county attorney.
The couple plan to marry June 21, 2008.
Engagement: Renyer and Mead
Greg and Carol Renyer of Sabetha and Debbie Mead of Pretty Prairie and Eric and Susie Mead of Valley Center announce the engagement of their children, Cabriel Jean Renyer and Jonathan William Mead.
Renyer graduated from Sabetha High School and Emporia State University.
Mead graduated from Pretty Prairie High School and Emporia State University. He is a coach and physical education teacher in grades K-12 at USD 359 in Argonia.

Engagement: Shaw and Dawson
Jamie Shaw and Stephen Dawson of Emporia announce their engagement.
Shaw graduated from Emporia High School and Emporia State University with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education, and is studying for a master’s degree in social science. She teaches social science and English as a second language at Emporia High School.
Dawson graduated from Emporia High School and Flint Hills Technical College with a degree in non-destructive testing. He is a quality control inspector for the Washington Group Int. nuclear power plant.
The couple plan to marry June 28, 2008, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
Engagement: Bohl and Metcalf
Wayne and JoAnn Bohl of Ellsworth and Dwight and Linda Metcalf of Emporia announce the engagement of their children, Abby Bohl and Tony Metcalf.
Bohl graduated from Ellsworth High School and Kansas State University. She is membership director for the Lindsey Golf Corporation in Kansas City.
Metcalf graduated from Emporia High School, Emporia State University and the San Diego Golf Academy. He is an assistant golf professional at the Indian Hills Country Club in Mission Hills.
The couple plan to marry Sept. 6, 2008, at the Agape Church in Breckenridge, Colo.
Wedding: Schlobohm and Corbitt
Jennifer Schlobohm and Christopher Corbitt were married March 28, 2008, at Villa del Palmar Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
The bride’s attendants were Molly Schlobohm, sister of the bride, Shealan Arnese and Kelli Archie, sisters of the bridegroom, Jill Jones, Madeleine Bertin and Jessica Vitlar. The groomsmen were Matthew Schlobohm and Brandon Schlobohm, brothers of the bride, Chip Palzer and Derek Tiplin. The ring bearer was James Arnesen.
The bride is a medical social worker in Seattle, Wash.
The bridegroom is a teacher in Shoreline, Wash.
The couple live in Portland, Ore.
She is the daughter of Charles and Barbara Schlobohm of Reading. She is the granddaughter of Laura Schlobohm of Emporia.
Engagement: Schwenn and Leeds
John and Judy Schwenn and Darrell and Beverly Leeds of Emporia announce the engagement of their children, Amy Schwenn and J.D. Leeds.
Schwenn graduated from Emporia High School and from Emporia State University with a bachelor’s degree in communication. She will graduate in May from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo., with a master’s degree in college student personnel administration.
Leeds graduated from Emporia High School and attends Emporia State University where he will graduate in May with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry.
The couple will move to the Washington, D.C. area in the fall where Leeds will study for his doctoral degree in chemistry at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Engagement: Willimon and Metcalf
Wesley and Janet Willimon of Liberal and Dwight and Linda Metcalf of Emporia announce the engagement of their children, Lindsay Willimon and Chris Metcalf.
Willimon graduated from Liberal High School and will graduate in December from Friends University in Wichita with a degree in human services sociology. She works part time as a mentor for U.S.D. 259 and tutor for Native American elementary students.
Metcalf graduated from Emporia High School and attended Emporia State University. He is vice president of client relations for Value Place Extended Stay Hotels.
The couple plan to marry July 12, 2008, at the Ascension Lutheran church in Wichita.
Engagement: Edwards and Lang
Adriane Nicole Edwards and Jacob Aaron Lang announce their engagement.
Edwards graduated from Northern Heights High School and from Emporia State University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She will graduate in August from Baker University with a master’s degree. She teaches kindergarten at Reading Elementary School.
Lang graduated from Pomona High School and from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture education. He teaches agriculture at Buhler High School.
She is the daughter of Rick and Nickie Edwards of Emporia.
He is the son of Tom and Diane Lang of Quenemo.
The couple plan to marry July 12, 2008, at the Emporia Presbyterian Church.
