Wedding: Kowalke and Weatherhead

Diana Lyn Kowalke and David Murrell Weatherhead were married July 7, 2007, in an outdoor ceremony at their home in Madison. The Rev. Dean Fox officiated at the evening ceremony.
The maid of honor was Josey Kowalke, daughter of the bride. The best man was Lee Baldridge. The bride’s other attendant was Nichole Weatherhead, daughter of the bridegroom. The groomsman was Tom Weatherhead, brother of the bridegroom. The usher was Jeremiah Weatherhead, son of the bridegroom.
Matt Snyder, nephew of the bride, was the music coordinator. Michelle Snyder, the bride’s sister-in-law, was the wedding coordinator. Guestbook attendants were Jana and Miranda Snyder, nieces of the bride. The videographer was Kurt Snyder, brother of the bride.
The wedding reception and buffet were at the Madison Senior Center. Servers were the bride’s cousins, Jody Indermuehle and Bekah Green.
The bride is the site manager of Eastgate Plaza Apartments.
The bridegroom owns and operates Emporia Tree Service.
She is the daughter of Raymond and Pat Snyder of rural Dodge City.
He is the son of Leila Weatherhead of Emporia and Bruce Weatherhead of Prescott Valley, Ariz.

Ruth Haag and Michael DeLange were married Aug. 4, 2007, at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Girard. The Rev. Don Thissen officiated at the afternoon ceremony.
The matron of honor was Alysia Walthall. The best man was B.J. Harris. The bride’s other attendants were Ashley DeLange and Rachel Haag. The groomsmen were Adam Haag and Bryan Pitts. Sarah Boller was the flower girl; Sgt. John Haag was the ring bearer. The candlelighter was Katherine Bess. Ushers were Ryan Curran, Robert O’Neilio, Kevin Huber and Casey Brown. Sarah Lehman was the wedding musician. Readers were Amy Boller and Brother Michael Haag, O.F.M. Amy Boller and Abby Huber were the guestbook attendants.
The wedding reception was at the church. The cake attendant was Jennifer Dibben; the punch attendant was Audrey Boller. The rehearsal dinner was at the Peppermill Cafe in Girard.
The couple live in Emporia.
The bride and bridegroom graduated from Pittsburg State University with bachelor’s degrees in education. She teaches at Emporia Middle School. He teaches at Iola High School.
She is the daughter of Richard J. and Janet K. Haag of Emporia.
He is the son of Michael D. and Marrion DeLange of Hepler.
Grandparents are Bill and Marge Lichtenhan of Dwight, Don and Marge DeLange of Brazilton and Viola Tillman of Weir.

Engagement: Altis and Wedel

Art Altis and Lila Altis, both of Emporia, Shawn and Belinda Hamlin of Americus and Mike and Debbi Wedel of Louisburg announce the engagement of their children, Heather Dale Altis and Matthew Ryan Wedel.
Altis graduated from Northern Heights High School at Allen, from Barton County Community College and Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in animal science. She is a financial officer at Commerce Bank in Manhattan.
Wedel graduated from Northern Heights High School and attended Pratt County Community College on a rodeo scholarship. He works for Westar Energy.
The couple met in high school. She was a competitive dancer and he, a competitive bullrider on the levels from amateur, high school, collegiate and professional rider. He proposed to her on Aug. 1, 2005, in front of more than 2,000 people at the Emporia Buck, Rumble & Roll. He attended these events for 10 years before he suffered a broken back at the 2006 Buck, Rumble & Roll. The couple now raise bucking bulls.
The couple plan to marry Oct. 6, 2007, at Fox Creek Ranch in Strong City.

Wedding: Burch and Martin

Sara Burch and Dustin Martin were married July 14, 2007, at Grace Hill Mennonite Church in Whitewater. The Rev. James Voth officiated at the afternoon ceremony.
The maid of honor was Emily Burch, sister of the bride. The best man was Jesse Martin, brother of the bridegroom. The bride’s other attendants were Kelly Self, Jan Alexander and Ashley Ortiz. The groomsmen were Evan Wagner, Cameron Smith and Clint Meyer. Mackenzie Martin was the flower girl; Alexander Knapp was the ring bearer.
Ushers were Brad Burch, Keith Burch, Terry Griffith and Jacob Schankie. Carol Klingenberg and Brett Klingenberg were the wedding musicians. The guestbook and gift attendants were Brittany Claasen, Courtney Claasen and Elizabeth Stone.
The wedding reception was at the church. Cassie Klingenberg and Amber Bailey were the cake servers. The rehearsal dinner, prepared by the bridegroom’s parents, also was at the church.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to Branson, Mo., and live in El Dorado.
The bride graduated from Remington High School and Emporia State University. She teaches first grade at Oak Hill Elementary School in El Dorado.
The bridegroom graduated from Madison High School and Emporia State University. He works at Butler Community College in El Dorado.
She is the daughter of Ron and Bonita Schroeder of Burns and Kevin and Cheryl Burch of Newton. She is the granddaughter of Edwin and Mary Jane Jansen of Newton.
He is the son of Raymond and Sharon Martin of Madison. He is the grandson of Marjorie Martin of Madison, Lawrence and Ann Dudrey of Hartford and Howard and Sandy Martin of Dumas, Texas.

Emma Bell and Andrew Linn were married Aug. 4, 2007, at the First Congregational Church. The Rev. Chad Poland officiated at the afternoon ceremony.
The matron of honor was Sarah Bell. The best man was Jerry Kraus. The bride’s other attendants were Andrea Pletcher and Darcy Wells. The groomsmen were Daryn Bontrager and Tab Hodge. Claire Pletcher was the flowergirl; Max Linn was the ring bearer. Candlelighters were Jeremy Bell and Jessica Bell.
The ushers were Justyn Bontrager, Bryon Martin and Jared Miller. Cheryl Doty was the wedding musician. The reader was Zack Bell. Guestbook attendants were Olivia Burress and Ariel Burress. The bride’s personal attendants were Tamara Ehr and Nicki Moree. Program and gift attendants were Davan Crow, Liam Kraus and Hannah Worrel.
The wedding reception was at the Best Western courtyard. Cake servers were Shawna Bell, Kathy Campbell and Ann Honeyman. Kristi Davies, Diana Lauer and Treva Worrel were the reception hosts. The rehearsal dinner was at the Emporia home of the bridegroom’s parents.
The couple took a wedding trip to Mazatlan, Mexico.
The bride is the daughter of Joseph and June Bell of Cottonwood Falls.
The bridegroom is the son of Dale and Maggie Linn of Emporia.
Grandparents are Jane Bell of Lenexa, Corrine Campbell of Cottonwood Falls, Ben Linn of Emporia and Walter Burress of Augusta.

Wedding: Green and Edmunds

Jessica Green and Jarrod Edmunds were married Aug. 11, 2007, at the Best Western Hospitality House. The Rev. G.W. Yeager officiated at the afternoon ceremony.
The maid of honor was Danielle Green, sister of the bride. The best man was Chris Cooper. The bride’s other attendants were Cathy Edmunds, sister of the bridegroom, Amie Mitchell and Anna Wold. The groomsmen were Ben Green, brother of the bride, Dustin Fields and Seth Wessel. Hailey Line, the groom’s niece, was the flower girl. The guestbook attendant was Racholle Edmunds, sister of the bridegroom. The bride’s personal attendant was Lacy Williamson. Cake cutters were Nicole Byrum, Anna Binder, Beth Yeager and Stacy McDonald. Linda Drake was the photographer.
The wedding reception was at the Hospitality House.
The couple will take a honeymoon trip to Las Vegas in December. They live in Broadwater, Neb.
The bride graduated from Chase County High School and the Flint Hills Technical College with a degree in hospitality and culinary arts. She works at Cabela’s.
The bridegroom graduated from Northern Heights High School and works at Weborg Feed Yard.
She is the daughter of W. Merl and Barbara Green of Cottonwood Falls.
He is the son of Randy and Linda Edmunds of Allen.
Grandparents are Walter and Anna Marie Green and Gene and Patty Peacock of Cottonwood Falls, Billy and Joan Burton and Arlene Hopper of Emporia and Lester and Betty Edmunds of Council Grove.

Engagement: Pankaskie and Decker

Durann Nicole Pankaskie and Christopher Dean Decker of Emporia announce their engagement.
Pankaskie graduated from Emporia State University with a bachelor’s degree and an associate’s degree in liberal arts from Butler Community College. She works at Chester Press.
Decker attended college and works at Tyson Fresh Meats.
She is the daughter of Steven and Nancy Pankaskie of Wichita and the late Allen Goc.
He is the son of Ronald and DiAnne Decker of Newton.
The couple plan to marry Dec. 8, 2007, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
