Wedding: Stone and Widener
Megan Stone and Joshua Widener were married Aug. 4, 2007, at the home of the bride’s parents, Stones’ Berry Farm in rural Emporia. The Rev. Chuck Hadley officiated at the evening ceremony.
The maid of honor was Jessica Carinsky. The best man was Jeff Widener. The flower boy was Branden Widener; the ring bearer was Trevor Widener. Ushers were Josh Stone and Ben Stone. Troy and Dianna Peters were the wedding musicians. Guestbook attendants were Deborah Newby and Megan Dambro.
The wedding reception was at Stones’ Berry Farm. Gift attendants were Leah Ziegler and Tiffany Healy. Jessica Carinsky was the other attendant. The rehearsal dinner was at the Candlewood Suites.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to Destin, Fla., and live in Emporia.
The bride is a licensed practical nurse at Stormont-Vail Health Care in Topeka. She also is a student at Neosho County Community College where she is studying for an associate’s degree in registered nursing.
The bridegroom is a student at Emporia State University where he is studying biochemistry and molecular biology.
She is the daughter of Chester and Susan Stone of Emporia.
He is the son of Jimmy and Ronda Widener of Liberal.
The grandmother is Eunis Conner of Ulysses.
Wedding: Fletcher and Sudlow
Jessica Fletcher and Ryan Sudlow were married Aug. 9, 2007, at Emporia Municipal Court. Honorable Judge Ted Hollembeak officiated at the afternoon ceremony.
The maid of honor was Erin Sudlow. The best man was Michael Smyers.
The wedding reception will be in October at the Americinn at Russell. The couple will take a Caribbean cruise over the Christmas holidays. They live in Manhattan.
The bride graduated from Russell High School and will train as a veterinary technician. She works at Orschelns in Manhattan.
The bridegroom is in his last year in mechanical and nuclear engineering at Kansas State University before nuclear propulsion training with the U.S. Navy.
The bride is the daughter of Jack and Gina Yost and John and Heather Fletcher of Russell.
The bridegroom is the son of Leland and Gail Sudlow of Emporia.
Grandparents are Chuckie Schmidt, Sam and Carol Schmidt and Florence Yost, all of Russell; Dick and Peggy Fletcher of Midland, Texas; Clara DeZeeuw of Lake Benton, Minn., and Adele Sudlow of Brookings, S.D.
Wedding: Gaskill and McCartney
Julie A. Gaskill and Larry McCartney were married July 7, 2007, at Kemper Chapel on Lake Michigan in Kenosha, Wis. The Rev. Jacklyn Van Heirselee officiated at the afternoon ceremony.
The maid of honor was Abigail Danielsen. The best man was Donald Berglund. The bride’s other attendants were Amy Gaskill, Jamie Rudolph, Jade Gaskill, Kate Hach, Jeanine Poppe and Natalie Elmer. The groomsmen were Jordan Gaskill, Kevin Lake, David McCartney, Jack Dicklin, Cory Poppe and Brandon Losby. The flower girls were Brielle Gaskill and Stephanie McCartney; the ring bearer was Caleb Rudolph. Ushers were Logand Gaskill and Austin McCartney. Nancy Maio was the wedding musician.
An outdoor reception was at the home of Joe and Julie Sadlier on Paddock Lake, Wis. The rehearsal dinner was at the Hidden Oaks Clubhouse.
The bride graduated from Lebo High School. She is a nanny for Marcel and Jennifer Eberle of Evanston, Ill. The bridegroom graduated from Wilmot Union High School at Wilmot, Wis. He works for Eco-Tech of Burlington, Wis. The couple live in Pleasant Prairie, Wis.
She is the daughter of James and Debra Gaskill of Williamsburg, Mo. She is the granddaughter of Dorothy Shaffer of Emporia and Kathryn Potter of Macomb, Ill.
He is the son of Duane and Rose McCartney of Burlington, Wis.
Engagement: East and Mosley
Tim and Julie East of Emporia and Cliff and Janel Mosley of Kansas City, Kan., announce the engagement of their children, Abbey East and Andy Mosley.
She attends the University of Kansas and is studying genetics.
The couple plan to marry Oct. 27, 2007, at the Danforth Chapel in Lawrence.
