Engagement: Nienstedt

William and Melody Nienstedt of Hartford and Kathy Schultz of Emporia announce the engagement of their children, Heather Nichole Nienstedt and Brett Allen Schultz.
Nienstedt graduated from Hartford High School and Emporia State University with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. She is a kindergarten teacher at Walnut Elementary School.
Schultz graduated from Emporia High School and works at Menu Foods Midwest.
The couple plan to marry June 29, 2007, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olpe.

Engagement: Langley and Grider

Alan and Diane Grider announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Grider, to Michael Langley, son of Marsha and Mike Langley. Both are from Emporia.
They both graduated from Emporia High School and attend Emporia State University. Grider is studying elementary education at ESU. Langley also works at Wolf Creek Nuclear Corporation in Burlington.
The couple plan to marry July 7, 2007, at the West Side Baptist Church in Emporia.

Engagement: Ruggiero and Ogleby

Stacy Lynn Ogleby and Edward Leo Ruggiero of Admire announce their engagement.
Ogleby graduated from Northern Heights High School at Allen. She is a volunteer EMT for North Lyon County and works at North Lyon County Child Development Center. She is the daughter of Carey and Shelly Ogleby of Admire.
Ruggiero graduated from high school in Middleboro, Mass. and attends Flint Hills Technical College studying industrial engineering. He is a member of the United States Army Reserves having served two tours in Iraq. He also works at Tyson Fresh Meats. He is the son of Anthony and Sherry Ruggiero of Emporia.
The couple plan to marry August 10, 2007 at the home of the bride’s parents.

Engagement: Wiggs and Commons

Amy Leigh Commons and Daniel Alan Wiggs of Topeka announce their engagement.
Commons graduated from Borger High School in Borger, Texas and Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. She teaches second grade at McCarter Elementary in Topeka.
Wiggs graduated from Topeka West High School and will graduate in August from Washburn University. He is an intern with the Kansas City T-Bones.
She is the daughter of Mark and Brenda Commons of Bartlesville, Okla. She is the granddaughter of Bob and Betty Commons of Emporia and Eddie and Doris Danford of Strong City.
The couple plan to marry June 9, 2007, in Gage Park at Topeka.

Wedding: Peters and Jasper

Wendy Jasper, formerly of Burlington, and Jake Peters were married December 12, 2006, at Makapu’u Beach, Honolulu, Hawaii. Chaplain Scott Carlson, LT. U.S. Navy, officiated at the afternoon ceremony.
The matron of honor was Katie Jasper-Teague, sister of the bride. The best man was Sam Teague.
The couple honeymooned at JW Marriott Beach Resort and Spa on Waikiki Beach, Honolulu, Hawaii. The wedding dinner was at Tiki’s Bar and Grill at ResortQuest in Honolulu. A reception for the couple will be held in Burlington on a date to be announced later.
The bride graduated from Burlington High School and Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in family studies and human services and a bachelor’s degree in women’s studies. She is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served on board the USS Nimitz from 1994 to 1998. She is the chamber director of the Hugoton Area Chamber of Commerce.
The bridegroom graduated from high school in Turpin, Okla.; from Southwest Technical School at Liberal and attended Central Oklahoma University at Edmond, Okla. He is the owner and operator of Peterson Trucking.
She is the daughter of David Ellison and Amy Roeder-Ellison of Humboldt and Lonny Jasper of Burlington. She is the granddaughter of Eunice Jasper of Emporia and the late Johnny Jasper, Joe Roeder and Mary Roeder of Burlington.
He is the son of Jacob and Mary Peters of Hugoton.
